A Proposal for aCombination of Compression and Enc ryption

This paper describes how to integrate encryption inn ann al gorithm which uses wavelets to compress data. Wavelets a re more useful inn image compressionn thann other methods. This is be cause the definitionn about which data shouldd be left out is more flexible. This adaptationn of wavelets to specific featur es of images leads to acceptable results. The use of com puters inn image transfer will increase further and it will therefor e become necessary to transfer image data quickly. Inn ad dition, a protection of the image against unauthorizedd access will become nec essary. Image compressionn increases the amount of time needed for transferringg ann image. Regarding the area of telemedic ine, there is a demand for the protection of images. The reason for this demandd is the needd to prevent the relationship bet ween patient data and ann image from beingg determined. The refore, the approachh intends to describe a combinationn of image compres sionn by using wavelets andd to integrate encryption into the wavelet-transform and-compressionn procedure.
